Scientific Program:

This summer school will address recent results describing stability and instability phenomena in mathematical fluid mechanics. It is intended for both researchers and graduate students in the field of partial differential equations.

Invited lecturers for 4 or 5 hours mini-courses:

– Tarek Elgindi (Duke University), Singularity formation in the Euler equations in finite and infinite time

– Philip Isett (California Institute of Technology), A proof of Onsager’s conjecture on energy dissipating Euler flows

– Sameer Iyer (University of California, Davis), Recent Progress in Stationary Boundary Layers

– Hao Jia (University of Minnesota), Linearized Navier Stokes equations at high Reynolds numbers: a unified approach to inviscid damping, vorticity depletion and enhanced dissipation

Invited speakers for 1 or 2 hours presentations:

– Isabelle Gallagher (ENS Paris), Fluctuations in a hard sphere gas and applications to hydrodynamics

– Zineb Hassainia (NYUAD), Desingularization of systems of point vortices with periodic motion

– Nader Masmoudi (NYUAD), TBA

– Jérémie Szeftel (Sorbonne Université), Blow up for supercritical defocusing nonlinear Schrodinger equation and compressible fluid
